Mustache Cake

This is one of my earlier cakes. It was for my dad's birthday, hence the not so fancy presentation. We're just plain 'ole country folks and my mom would have gotten mad at me for using one of my fancy dishes for a small family birthday celebration.

My dad has had a mustache for as long as I can remember. The only time he didn't have one was when he was going through chemo treatments for multiple myeloma. This cake was for his birthday during that period. We bought some stick on mustaches and had mustache cake to celebrate. I am happy to say that while he will always have to have some sort of chemo, his numbers are in check, his hair has grown back and so has his mustache!

By the way, strawberry blonde hair is a hard color to mimic in buttercream!
